Bandai Namco To Address Tekken 7 Ranked Match Issues

By Keith MitchellJune 5, 2017

Ever since Tekken 7 was released, I haven’t been able to put it down. Easily one of the best fighting games I’ve played in the past few years (sorry Street Fighter V). However, I do have issues with how the online mode works or doesn’t work if I’m being honest. As it stands right now, if you do a ranked mode it’s basically impossible to get matches going at certain times.

I literally spent 15 minutes trying to get a match at one point. I felt like people were basically passing based on my record. It’s a tad frustrating and apparently, I’m not the only person who thinks so. Thankfully, Bandai Namco is currently looking into the issues and are going to be addressing the issue.

We have received inquiries from a number of customers regarding situations in which they appear to have trouble matching with other players in Ranked Match.

We are currently investigating the issue and plan to address the problem through an online update scheduled to modify the game spec and improve matching. Player and opponent character will no longer be displayed when searching for a match in Ranked Match.

More details regarding the update will be posted to the official Tekken site.

We apologize for any inconvenience which this may cause in the meantime.

No ETA on the changes, but at least they’re going to be implementing the change for the ranking system. Hopefully, after that, they’ll implement a way to get revenge matches started a bit faster.

Now, you’ll have to excuse me, I need to get back to kicking some more ass in Tekken 7.
