E3 2017: BJ Blaskowicz added to ‘Quake Champions’, Quake World Championships slated for August 26

Two awesome pieces of information blessed the Bethesda E3 Conference tonight concerning Quake Champions. The first one involves the Quake World Championships at QuakeCon on August 26th.

The prize pool has been revealed to be $1 million, and Bethesda has revealed when the qualifiers will take place by region and by game mode:

Online Qualifiers for Duel Competitors:

  • Duel Qualifier #1
    • EU: June 29, July 2
    • NA: June 30, July 2
  • Duel Qualifier #2
    • EU: July 6, July 9
    • NA: July 7, July 9
  • Duel Qualifier #3
    • EU: July 13, July 16
    • NA: July 14, July 16
  • Duel Qualifier #4
    • EU: July 20, July 23
    • NA: July 21, July 23

Online Qualifiers for 4v4 Sacrifice:

  • EU Sacrifice Qualifier #1: July 1-2
  • EU Sacrifice Qualifier #2: July 8-9
  • NA Sacrifice Qualifier #1: July 15-16
  • NA Sacrifice Qualifier #2: July 22-23

Regional Finals, Duel and Sacrifice:

  • EU Regionals (Leicester, UK): August 5-6
  • NA Regionals (Burbank, CA): August 5-6

Finals (QuakeCon, Dallas Texas):

  • BYOC Duel Qualifying Tournament: August 24
  • Finals: August 24-26

Players should register to enter the Quake World Championships qualifying rounds by going to this link.

In addition, in a trailer shown at the conference, Wolfenstein’s BJ Blaskowicz will be joining the Quake Champions roster, as well as the announcement that the Quake Closed Beta will be running 24/7. 

We’re introducing Wolfenstein’s leading man, BJ Blazkowicz, as a new Champion! The E3 2017 update also adds 3 new maps, the brand-new Tri-bolt weapon, and a host of new and improved features to explore. With this update comes some very exciting news: the Closed Beta will continue and will be kept live 24/7 from here on out. If you haven’t been able to join the Closed Beta yet, don’t worry – more people are continuously being let in, so sign up now and you’ll immediately receive your beta key.
