Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels Is Criss Cross Crashing Onto Xbox One and PC

By Jon JinksApril 26, 2017

If we’ve learned anything about the Forza Horizon series, it’s that it doesn’t take itself too seriously.  Remember Forza Horizon 2 Presents The Fast and The Furious?  Well, today Microsoft revealed something we all needed, but no one knew it until they saw it.  That thing is Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels.  This will be the second expansion for Forza Horizon 3, following The Blizzard Mountain.

It will include six interconnected islands containing all sorts of ramps, boosters, loops, mechanical dinosaurs and the madness you’d expect from Hot Wheels tracks.  In addition to new tracks, there will be a new campaign, a creative Stunt Swap mode, and online functionality that also includes a Playground Arena.  The expansion will add 28 new achievements that total to 500 points.

There will be ten new Hot Wheels cars, nine of which have been confirmed:

  • 1969 Hot Wheels Twin Mill
  • 2011 Hot Wheels Bone Shaker
  • 2012 Hot Wheels Rip Rod
  • 2005 Hot Wheels Ford Mustang
  • 2016 Jeep Trailcat
  • 2016 Zenvo ST1
  • 2007 Toyota Hilux Arctic Trucks AT38
  • 2010 Pagani Zonda R
  • 972 Chrysler VH Valiant Charger R/T E49
Hot Wheels
I didn’t know I needed this.

Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels looks crisp, colorful, and fun.  The orange track hovering over the water and weaving between buildings is something any kid (or adult) would dream of when setting up a track.  The series continues to fill the need for a beautiful car game that remains playable for players who prefer an arcade type of driving experience.

Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels will be release on May 9th, 2017 exclusively on the Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.  It will be part of Xbox Play Anywhere, so a digital copy of Forza Horizon 3 will let you play on both the Xbox One and PC.  Tune in at 1:00p PDT (4:00p EST) on May 8th for a special launch stream at over on the Forza Beam.pro.

Truthfully, I skipped Forza Horizon 3 and clearly I shouldn’t have.  After watching this trailer, I want in.  Be sure to check out Keith’s review of Forza Horizon 3 here.

Jon has been playing video games for a long time. His first commentary was recorded on cassette during boss fights in Final Fantasy for the NES. That tape may be lost, but his love of production, recording, and video games is not.
