NieR: Automata DLC - The Outerhaven

Square-Enix announced today that DLC is on the way for their hit game NieR: Automata. The DLC set will be called “3C3C1D119440927”, and will add three new colosseums to challenges, along with some additional sub-quests. Rewards for the sub-quests include:

  • Costumes from the previous Japanese release, NieR: Replicant, for androids 2B, 9S and A2
  • Records that add special music tracks to the players’ jukebox
  • New equipment and cosmetic accessories such as hairspray that allows you to change the color of 2B and A2’s hair
  • Masks with unique “on equip” effects
  • Special bullets that change the appearance of enemy bullets

NieR: Automata DLC - The Outerhaven

NieR: Automata has been a big hit for Square-Enix. The game has shipped over a million physical copies, and has even sold over 220,000 copies on Steam (link via Reddit). It was praised by legendary game designer Masahiro Sakurai, who liked that the Nier series steps “outside their game or genre-defined “boundaries” to shock the audience”.  A patch was released late last month to address some framerate and screen resolution issues, which were a few of the only complaints our own Keith Mitchell had in his review of NieR: Automata.

The Square-Enix YouTube channel has also posted a video of the ‘CEO Boss Fight’ from the upcoming DLC:

A release date has not yet been set for this DLC, but we’ll post an update once we know more. NieR: Automata released for the PlayStation 4 on March 7th, 2017 and PC on March 17th.

If you don’t already own the game, be sure to check out our review of the title here. In addition, A free demo of Nier: Automata is available on Sony’s PlayStation store.
