“DuckTales” Reboot Trailer is a Total Nostaglia Trip

By Sara Roncero-MenendezMarch 2, 2017
DuckTales

For kids in the 1980s and 1990s, no show was as fun and thrilling as DuckTales, nor was there one with a catchier theme song. For those looking to go back to Duckburg and live out more adventures, Disney XD will soon be premiering their reboot of the show.

With a new, updated animation style and brand new adventures, the cast of DuckTales and potentially better than ever. Donald Duck drops off his three nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, with their Uncle Scrooge McDuck, and soon the six (including Webby and Launchpad) take off on amazing adventures to parts unknown to get amazing treasures.

Best of all, the casting is a perfect fit. David Tennant of Doctor Who fame will play Scrooge McDuck, Danny Pudi, Ben Schwartz and Bobby Moynihan as the voices of Huey, Dewey and Louie, respectively and Kate Micucci as Webby Vanderquack (you know, that one girl duck there to balance out all the testosterone). And yes, there will be a new Launchpad McQuack, played by Beck Bennett. With all of these comedians under one roof, it’s hard to imagine that this show won’t be as funny and action-packed as the original.

For those you wondering: yes, the original theme will be used, though it has been re-recorded and has more of a rock sound than the original. Is this a sign that they will respect the original? Who knows, but here’s a video of the cast singing the theme song:

Now, if only we could get a Darkwing Duck revival, we’d really be set.

DuckTales will premiere of Disney XD in Summer 2017.

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
