Some Nintendo Switch Games Digital Download Sizes Revealed

By Todd BlackFebruary 20, 2017
Nintendo Switch

One of the biggest questions about the Nintendo Switch when it was revealed that cartridges would be a part of the system was, “What’s the internal storage like?” This was important, as a lot of people like to digitally download games, and that obviously affects the internal storage capacity.

Well, to start, the Nintendo Switch will have 25GBs of storage. But, you’ll be able to buy additional storage via SD cards. And, as a rumor seems to indicate, all downloaded games will be tied to you My Nintendo account, and not the Switch itself.

But still, some are wondering what the download sizes are for some of these games. Well, as Reddit reveals, only one (so far) will need an extra SD card to be downloaded digitally, and it’s not Zelda. Here’s the list of some of the launch window games and their download sizes:

– The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 13.4 GB
– Puyo Puyo Tetris 1.09 GB
– I Am Setsuna 1.40 GB
– Nobunaga’s Ambition 5 GB
– Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 7 GB
– Snipperclips 1.60 GB
– Dragon Quest Heroes I·II 32 GB (SD card required)

Yep, it’s Dragon Quest Heroes that needs the extra space. However, if you think about it, that makes sense, as this is two rather large games in one, and games that are getting additional content.   While the others are either low, or only consume a fraction of the space in the Switch.

Not sure how to feel about this? Well check this out. You know the Nintendo Switch “clicking” sound we heard during the reveal presentation? Well, it’s a real thing!
