Most Anticipated Games of 2017: Delaila’s Top Ten

By Delaila LugoDecember 29, 2016

Delaila’s (@ASSASSINA_SAN) top ten anticipated games of 2017 (In somewhat of an order):

Horizon Zero Dawn – It’s no surprise that this game is my most anticipated game of 2017 with all the stellar presentations it has thus far received. Robotic creatures, a bow-wielding huntress and RPG features, is right up my alley. This is most likely going to be my 2017 GOTY.

Red Dead Redemption 2 – I mean let’s be serious, we’re talking Rockstar here. They’re like gaming developer gods (up there with a few others). I have 100% faith that this game is going to be a strong contender for GOTY. Red Dead Redemption was such a well-received game for its time, and now we get seven band of thieves. Count me in.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole – Straight up, South Park: The Stick of Truth was the funniest game I’ve ever played, and I imagine The Fractured But Whole, won’t be any different. This RPG is guaranteed to crack me up for hours.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
– I love me some good ole’ horror, and after playing the final demo on PlayStation 4, this might just be the one game that pushes me to purchase a PlayStation VR. This game is going to bring the horror elements that we know and love, back into the Resident Evil series.

Persona 5
– The weeaboo in me needs at least one good J-RPG per year, and what better than Persona.

Mass Effect: Andromeda
– It’s been a while since the Mass Effect trilogy and I’m looking forward to exploring new planets with new races, and some added gameplay mechanics. Bioware has a reputation of making really intricate character creation, and I’m eager to experience it’s improvements in Andromeda. After seeing gameplay at PlayStation Experience 2016, this game seems like a lot of fun and worth being on my top 10 most anticipated games of 2017.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – I know I’m a big PlayStation fan, but this game alongside the release of the Nintendo Switch seems like a big deal. Breath of Wild seems like it will be the best Zelda game yet, with what seems to be the best visuals and gameplay mechanics, including sliding down a snowy hill on a shield as if it were a snowboard!

Prey – A good psychological first-person shooter is needed, and after seeing gameplay at PlayStation Experience 2016, and hearing about its unique story, this seems to be the one to revive the series.

Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite – The fighting game genre has gradually died out for me when online multiplayer became prominent, and my friends stopped coming over to cipher controllers. I’m hopeful that this game might re-kindle some of that good ole’ smack talking that comes with in-person fighting game battles.

For Honor – After seeing gameplay at E3 2016, this game seems to be a unique and all out fun multiplayer experience with four versus four battle, including Samurai’s, Knight’s, and Vikings. This seems like a bloody, brutal, blast.

Actually, my most anticipated games with no release window yet are The Last of Us Part II, Ni No Kuni 2: The Revenant Kingdom, and Death Stranding, but we know those aren’t coming out anytime soon. I would include Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, but this is technically stand alone DLC.

A few games that have a chance of coming out in 2017, that are worthy of being high on this list is God of War 4, Spiderman PS4, Days Gone, and Final Fantasy 7 remake. For that sake of my own sanity, I’m going to eliminate 2017 speculation to only include games that are confirmed for 2017, but these games are one hundred percent worth mentioning, and would easily knock off some of the above if confirmed.

At 2 years old, she was the little sister that was given the unplugged NES controller, and when finally discovering her big brothers trick, she couldn't be stopped. Her parent's would buy almost every single console (NES, Sega Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, N64, etc.), with the expectation that they had to be shared. Finally purchasing her own PlayStation 2 is when she finally accepted gaming as one of her treasured hobbies. Favorite Games: The Last of Us and Bloodborne
