Poochy and Yoshi’s Wooly World Releases for 3DS On February 3rd

By Tyler KelbaughSeptember 1, 2016

There’s never enough adorable Poochy and Yoshi to go around

Yoshi’s Wooly World, previously a Wii U exclusive, is coming to Nintendo 3DS early next year with a new name: Poochy and Yoshi’s Wooly World. While the newly announced Super Mario Maker 3DS is missing some features of its console counterpart, Poochy and Yoshi’s Wooly World comes complete with every Wii U stage. It also is adding some sweet new bonus content!

There are several new stages in the game featuring Poochy. These levels remind me a bit of the Rayman Origins rhythm levels, as players must time a fast moving Poochy’s jumps to clear the stage.

New characters, called Poochy Pups, make finding secrets easier for players who don’t have time to hunt each individual secret. They are entirely optional, allowing players to take the game at whatever pace they want.

In a cool twist, Poochy and Yoshi’s Wooly World will come bundled with 30 animated shorts. The stop motion animation company Dwarf is teaming up with Nintendo to create the videos. They’re cute little videos that show the daily life of Yarn Yoshi and Poochy

Finally, although they did not explain it’s functionality, Nintendo unveiled a yarn Poochy amiibo. Yarn Poochy will launch along side Poochy and Yoshi’s Wooly World on February 3rd.
