Like Video Game Music? Check out ConSoul Big Band This July 9th

I know there’s a bunch of people that frequent this site and that are fans of both original video game music and their arranges. Well, we got some news for you that you’re going to love, especially if you’re within the area of New York. On July 9th, 2016, the band “ConSoul Big Band” will be holding a concert in Brooklyn, New York. Consoul VGM is a 15 piece big band, specializing in funky arrangements of Video Game Music. The band even includes some names that you may have heard of before, such as Danny Flam, who has played for the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as recorded for both Jay-Z and Kayne West.

And yes, the name is a play on of “Console”, so you know what these guys are all about.

The current playlist includes many titles including Super Mario, Zelda, Street Fighter, Sonic, Tetris, Banjo-Tooie, The Banner Saga, Civilization series, and many other games, and we are constantly expanding the playbook to include many new games. They have been collaborating with the original composers in order to create a most entertaining and fun experience for the crowd, at the highest musical standard possible. In addition, they also show original game play footage from the games during their shows.

Yes, they’re really legit folks. However, the band needs the gaming communities help to make sure that this concert takes place. They need to sell some more tickets, otherwise, the concert won’t take place and they will make more than a few people sad. What can you do to help? Simple, head over to Ticketfly and pick up a ticket. They’re currently being sold at for $10.00 per ticket right now.

The concert takes place at 8PM and continues on until 4AM (July 10) and is for anyone 21 years of age and older. If you enjoy video game arranges and you live in the area, there’s no reason to miss out on this event. 

To get an idea of what you’ll be treated to during the show, check out some of their previous recordings below.  They’ve even performed a rendition of the Konami’s X-Men arcade game theme and even some Undertale music going on, how freaking awesome is that? No need to answer, I’ll do it for you… it’s amazingly freaking awesome.
