Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Headed to Toonami

By Keith MitchellMay 14, 2016

Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans

It’s been a long time since a Gundam series has been featured on Toonami, however, things are about to change. This past week, it has been announced that Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans has been acquired and will be shown on Toonami in the upcoming TV schedule.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, which is easily one of my favorite Gundam shows, takes a change of pace from other shows such as Mobile Suit Gundam: Unicorn and Mobile Suit Gundam:00. The also takes a more realistic approach to the Gundam universe, similar to what we saw from the Mobile Suit Gundam:08th MS Team. The show features several real-life issues that follow war and includes topics such as slavery, government corruption, children soldiers and even coping with death.

Trust me, you’re gonna love this show, if you haven’t already watched it that is. What wasn’t mentioned however is if this is going to be in Japanese with subtitles or if they’ll be dubbing it before it airs.

Since this was recently announced, there is no ETA on when the show will premier. However, I hope that when it does, that it gets good enough audience since would also give us a chance to see the second season, which airs in Japan starting in October 2015.
