Microsoft looking to release Windows 9 in 2015

By Keith MitchellJanuary 11, 2014

Now that Microsoft has released Windows 8 and the Windows 8.1 update, it’s looking like they have their eyes on the next prize. Namely releasing the next revision of their flagship OS, Windows 9. As reported by Paul Thurrott of Winsupersite.com, Microsoft will be discussing the vision it has in store for the Windows software lined and the upcoming codenamed release “Threshold” which is speculated to be the next Windows release at the Build 2014 developer conference which will be held in April 2014.

Not much else is known about Windows 9 other than Microsoft plans on building off Windows 8 and will incorporate features from Windows 8 / 8.1, such as the start menu and of course the Metro / Modern UI. Here’s to hoping that if this is the build process for Windows 9 that Microsoft does something that made Windows 7 so good in the first place and that’s listen to it’s customers.
