What Do We Know About Disney's Tron: Uprising

By Keith MitchellApril 24, 2012

OMFG! Disney is making an animation for Tron? I’m really geeking out here (Yes I know I saw that alot, but I am), I’m a huge Tron fan and have been ever since I watched the original Tron movie when I was a child.

Tron: Uprising takes place prior to the events of Tron: Legacy though there isn’t any connection (So far) from the vents that occurred in TRON: Evolution and yes TRON: Evolution is considered part of the Tron canon. The show will be centered around a program named Beck who ends up becoming the computerized version of John Conner and leads a revolution that will encompass the entire Grid.

Still there are parts of the trailer that don’t make any sense. For example if this takes places before Tron: Legacy then Tron is actually Rinzler. However Beck is supposedly trained by Tron himself, but how is that possible if Tron = Rinzler? Who knows, but I’m sure it will all flesh out, well at least I hope so.

Tron: Uprising will also be voiced by quite the line-up, including; Elijah Wood (Beck), Mandy Mo0re (Mara), Emmanuelle Chriqui (Paige), Bruce Boxleitner (Tron/Rinzler), Fred Tatasciore (CLU), Paul Reubens (Pavel) and more. Quite the star studded line up for an animation series, seems Disney is going all out for this.

Tron: Uprising airs on DisneyXD this June!

Are you ready Tron fans? I know I am!
