Atari Releasing Four Game Collection To Celebrate Butcher Billy

By Scott AdamsDecember 12, 2023
Atari® is excited to announce a four-game limited edition Atari 2600 cartridge collection featuring the art of renowned pop-culture artist and Atari collaborator Butcher Billy. The collection of Atari 2600 games — including Dark Chambers, Outlaw, Save Mary, and Fatal Run — is enclosed in a slipcover designed by Butcher Billy and features a new illustration that draws from the key art of the four titles. For the collection, Butcher Billy has re-interpreted the key art for each game in his own unique style.
Each game cartridge is enclosed in a silver collector’s box. The box, cartridge, and user manual all feature artwork by the Brazilian artist Butcher Billy. Butcher is known for mining modern culture for ideas, imagery, lyrics, and moods and then splicing them together into his own unique form of contemporary nostalgia. Butcher is a frequent collaborator with Atari and has worked with Netflix, Stranger Things, Marvel, Black Mirror, Honda, Warner, Lionsgate, Amazon Prime, Playboy, New York Times, and Universal Music.
The limited edition collection of 500 is available for $299.99 USD. Preorders begin on December 12 at atari.com.

The Atari XP initiative, which seeks to bring rare and never-released Atari game cartridges to market, has introduced 18 games since it launched in November 2021. Atari XP cartridges are manufactured to exacting standards from all new parts and materials, with beveled edges to prevent pin damage, strong gold-plated connectors, and identical power draw to the originals.
