Stellar Blade Update Adds a Boss Challenge Mode and Quality of Life Changes

Whether you like it or not, or like it and rather not admit it, Shift Up’s first PlayStation 5 title, Stellar Blade, is an enjoyable action-adventure game. However, the developer isn’t done with the game and has revealed an upcoming update (patch 1.003) that will be released on May 24, 2024.

This update will continue several quality-of-life updates, outfits, and the new Boss Challenge mode. This mode will allow players who’ve already defeated a boss to challenge it all over again, with all 19 bosses. This is great for those who either fumbled through a boss fight and made it through by the skin of their teeth or liked the encounter so much that they wanted to do it all over again. Personally, I love when a developer thinks of the players and adds modes like this. Especially since it helps the game retain its playability.

Stellar Blade Boss ChallengeHere’s the complete list of what will be available in Stellar Blade’s May 24, 2024, update.

  • Unlock a new costume ‘Neurolink Suit’ by defeating all bosses in the new ‘Boss Challenge’ mode.
  • Two new outfits from the “Kunoichi” series can be obtained at Adam’s safehouse. All you have to do is download the update and outfits will be waiting for you.
  • Fixed bugs such as unplayable sections, events not triggering, and trophies not being awarded.
  • Added an auto-lock-on option when exiting ranged mode.
  • Added option to always show the compass in HUD.
  • Slightly increased the time limit for puzzles.
  • Many other improvements have been made to the controls, balance, and more.

I’d love to know what “more” has been updated or improved. However, I’m sure once the patch is released and we get the full update notes, everything will be revealed.
