Persona 5 Royal French, Italian, German, and Spanish Subtitles Confirmed for Western Release

By Keith MitchellDecember 12, 2019
Persona 5 Royal

But only for the Westen release

For the first time ever, Atlus’s Persona series will include subtitled languages that include English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian. Meaning that more fans of the series who didn’t have the ability to play the games as they didn’t speak or read Japanese or English won’t be left out.

These subtitles will be available in Persona 5 Royal when it in the West on March 31 2020. We’ve reached out to Atlus and they have confirmed that these subtitles will not be patched into the Japanese version of the game.

If you ask me, this should have been something that should have happened a long time ago. Yet, this comes with a vast localization effort, which simply may have not been in the budget at the time.  Hopefully, this won’t be the only Persona title that will see this particular treatment.

Persona 5 Royal released in Japan on October 31, 2019. While the Western release date is set for March 31, 2020.
