Mass Effect: Andromeda Will Be Available Only on Origin for PC

By Keith MitchellJanuary 4, 2017

I’m not really sure why people still insist that EA games will make their way to any other platform other than EA’s Origin. Especially since EA has been completely adamant that all of their PC gaming titles were going to Origin, that’s the reason it was built for, after all. Now that the release date for Mass Effect: Andromeda was announced, people started to wonder if the game would be available via Steam.

That’s when the Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s Lead Designer, Ian Frazier, stepped in and killed off any hope of that happening.

@thatColtondude No, sorry. PC version will be available via Origin or by disc (physical).

So there you have it, Mass Effect: Andromeda will be exclusive to Origin. This was hardly unexpected as Mass Effect 3 is only available on Origin as well. The only Mass Effect titles that are available on Steam are Mass Effect 1 & 2 (2010), which released before Origin (2011) took off. For now and for the foreseeable future, all published titles will be accessible only via Origin.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will be available on March 21st, 2017, for PS4, Xbox One and PC via Origin.
