Pokemon GO Was The Biggest Google Search Of 2016

By Todd BlackDecember 14, 2016
Pokemon Go, Pokemon Sleep

To say that Pokemon GO is a phenomenon would be the understatement of the year. But Google has revealed just how much the people of world have looked up the game all year.

According to Google Trends, Pokemon GO was the No.1 search entry of the entire year. Do recall, that the game only came out in July, which means there was likely a lot of searching before the game came out, then once it did come out, there was no doubt a big search overload to download it. This of course was also boosted by looking up help, cheats, advice, and what have you. But for Pokemon GO to beat out the election, the Olympics, certain movies, and certain famous people? That’s quite an achievement.

This will probably continue for a long time as the game is adding Johto Pokemon to its lineup.
