Golden DualShock 4 controller coming exclusively to Gamestop

By Keith MitchellSeptember 14, 2016

Sony definitely likes producing multi-colored controllers, don’t they? Now it looks like they have one more color coming out – a Golden Dualshock 4, which also just happens to be an exclusive item for Gamestop. Yep, it’s gold alright and it will require a bit more gold from your pockets.. and if you don’t have any gold, I suppose cash will work just as well.

The updated golden DualShock 4 controller will be available on November 21st, 2016, and will be found only at Gamestop locations for $65. And since it is one of the updated DualShock 4 controllers, it will feature the front-facing light bar,Bluetooth and USB comm support. And if you’re not a PlayStation 4 gamer, don’t forget that in the upcoming weeks, Sony will be providing an official dongle so that you can use DualShock 4 controllers on the PC as well. So you too, PC gamers, can be shiny and golden.

Update: Looks like the link is live over at Gamestop, so you can pick up one now (here).

Now, I’ve never been a fan of painted controllers, just due to the fact that they tend to chip when they’re dropped or used to save the universe, but everyone has their preferences. Now everyone can feel like Charlie when he won that golden ticket in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory… the original movie!
