I got my hands on Ys X: Proud Nordics at Pax West earlier this year and was wondering when it would eventually come out since we got an announcement earlier that it would be coming out on Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. NIS America has finally given us a release date, alongside some surprising new information.
That’s right, Ys X: Proud Nordics is also coming to PlayStation 5 right out of the gate. It will not be a Nintendo Switch 2 console exclusive. I played it on a Nintendo Switch 2 during Pax West, and it ran great! So pick it up for whatever system you want. Note that the Nintendo Switch 2 physical copy is a game key card in case you are thinking of getting it physically.
New key features are noted in the press release as:
Key Details:
● Adventure Anew: The spectacular adventure of Ys X: Nordics is back and better than ever, with improved graphical performance and quality of life updates that make this the definitive way to experience Ys X.● Isle of Mystery: Arrive at Öland Island and take part in a brand-new adventure! With Shield Siblings Canute and Astrid by your side, dig deep into the mystery surrounding this island in a story that’s been seamlessly integrated into the original.
● An Ocean of Experiences Awaits: New mechanics and content abound in Ys X: Proud Nordics! Use the new Mana Hold ability to manipulate the world around you, try your hand at new challenges on Öland Island, and prepare yourself for Muspelheim, a timed dungeon of diabolical difficulty.
