Kadokawa announced on Monday that the anime adaptation of Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games has been delayed until 2026. The production team cited scheduling conflicts as the reason for the delay, as the anime was originally planned to air this year.
Despite the setback, a collaboration with Street Fighter 6 has been confirmed. To mark the announcement, a special visual has been released featuring Aya Mitsuki, Mio Yorue, Yū Inui, and Tamaki Ichinose alongside Street Fighter icons Ken, Ryu, Juri, and Cammy.
The visual and a set of commemorative character postcards can be viewed below.
The original manga by Eri Ejima recently released its ninth volume in Japan. Seven Seas Entertainment is publishing the series in English and will release volume eight later this month. An exact date for the anime’s premiere has not yet been announced.
