How to Fast Travel to Shrines in WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers

In WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, there’s a fast travel/teleport system that lets you quickly return to any Shrines you’ve discovered throughout the world. This is incredibly convenient, especially once the game opens up and backtracking becomes tedious. However, teleporting isn’t as simple as you might expect.

Unlike games such as Dark Souls, WUCHANG adds a twist. You can’t just stop by a Shrine and expect it to be available for fast travel. You must enter the Dream at that Shrine first. Doing so resets the world, heals your character, and sets that Shrine as your active fast travel return point when using specific items.

How to Fast Travel Using Shrines

To fast travel the standard way:

  • Discover and activate a Shrine by performing the Blood Ritual.
  • Interact with the Shrine and choose the “Teleport” option.
  • Select any other previously activated Shrine from the list to travel there.

Using Shrines this way is completely free, but keep in mind that normal enemies will respawn at both the starting and destination points. Elite enemies and bosses, however, will stay dead.

Which Items Let You Fast Travel Instantly?

There are two special items that let you teleport back to the Shrine where you last entered the Dream. Each one has its own drawback, so using them comes down to strategy and resource management.

Feather Pearl

Wuchang Fallen Feathers - Feather Pearal

  • Effect: Instantly teleports you to the last Shrine where you entered the Dream.
  • Cost: Increases your Madness gauge.
  • Perk: You keep all of your Red Mercury.

This is the safer option for preserving your currency, but you’ll have to deal with increased Madness buildup, which can impact your gameplay significantly.

Crimson Feather Pearl

  • Effect: Also teleports you to the last Dream-touched Shrine.
  • Cost: You lose 50% of your current Red Mercury.
  • Perk: Your Madness gauge does not increase.

This item is ideal if you’re nearing a Madness threshold or can’t afford another stack. Just be prepared to sacrifice some of your precious currency, which can set you back greatly if you were looking to go level up your character.

Choosing Between Madness or Red Mercury

When deciding which item to use, ask yourself:

  • Can I afford more Madness, or am I already close to dangerous levels?
  • Do I have a lot of Red Mercury that I can’t afford to lose?
  • Is dying a better alternative?

Yes, even dying is a viable teleport strategy. You will lose some Red Mercury, but unless you’re carrying 90 percent or more of your max carry limit, you won’t lose half of it. In some cases, this may be the more efficient way to return to safety without using either Pearl.

Final Tips

  • Always enter the Dream when activating a Shrine to enable fast travel via Pearls.
  • Use Feather Pearls when you can manage the Madness gain.
  • Use Crimson Feather Pearls when preserving your mental state is more important than your wallet.
  • Consider dying as a backup option if neither item is worth the trade-off.

Fast travel in WUCHANG is all about managing risk versus reward. Use these systems wisely, and you’ll save yourself a lot of headaches in the long run.
