World of Warcraft: Midnight Launches on March 2, 2026

By Josh PiedraNovember 26, 2025
World of Warcraft Midnight

Blizzard Entertainment announced today that its next World of Warcraft expansion pack, Midnight, will launch on March 2, 2026.

The Midnight Expansion will feature the following:

Player Housing
Players can purchase a plot in a neighborhood and create a home for themselves. Collect decor from vendors, achievements, events, and other sources to craft the home of your dreams. Decor can be placed via snapping it to a grid, or go into advanced mode to place it anywhere you want, even if it clips through other objects. Likewise, the outside of your home and your plot of land can be customized completely.

Prey System
Inspired by Legion Remix’s Heroic World Tier, the Prey System has you hunt down (or be hunted by) a prey. Follow its path and slay it to earn rewards and progress on your World Tier in the Great Vault.

New Allied Race: Harronir
We met them in The War Within, and now you can call the half-elf, half-troll race to your side as a new allied race.

The Death of Combat Add-ons
Blizzard promised and delivered by blocking the API to add-on creators (for combat add-ons); however, they have added their own boss timers, damage meters, and cooldown manager to the game.

Revamped Quel’thalas
In addition to two new zones (Harandar and Voidstorm), we will be revisiting Zul’Aman and Eversong Woods (and by way of that, The Ghostlands). The old zones are revamped with HD artwork, and for the first time ever, players will be able to fly in these zones! The transition from Eastern Kingdoms into Eversong Woods will be seamless, and no longer need a portal.

3 New Raids, 8 New Dungeons, 11 New Delves

Transmog Becomes Free by Slot
Many players thought this meant that transmog was free across the board, but it’s not. In Midnight, you can purchase a slot to store a transmog set in. This slot is account-wide and does not need to be repurchased on alts. You can buy up to 50 slots for your gear sets. Then, you must pay a gold fee to save a transmog set to an empty slot. Once a slot is filled, you can then select another slot that you saved another set to and swap between them free of charge until the end of time. You can also auto-swap your sets based on certain situations, such as swimming, entering your home, mounting, entering a raid or a dungeon, and so forth.

Devourer Demon Hunter Third Spec
Demon Hunters finally get a third spec, commanding the void in a hybrid melee/ranged combat role.

New Battleground: Slayer’s Rise
A brand-new 40 vs 40 battleground is coming in Midnight

PvP Training Mode
The old Comp Stomp event is back, it’s improved, and it’s permanent! Take on AI-controlled opponents in battlegrounds as a way to train yourself on how to engage in PvP combat.

Choose a Playstyle
The Looking for Group Tool allows players to notate what kind of group they are creating from four choices: Learning, Casual, Competitive, and Carry Offered.

Misc Minor Features
Other features of Midnight include valorstones being removed from the game to make gear upgrading easier, new lorewalking stories (the elves), vigor removed from skyriding, Valeera Sanguinar replacing Brann Bronzebeard as your delve companion, story mode for Dragonflight raids, Dragonflight becoming legacy content, and more!
