WOODZ, who dominated the music streaming charts in the first half of 2025, has opened a fan community on the global K-culture fan platform Berriz to foster deeper connections with followers around the world.
Kakao Entertainment announced that WOODZ, officially discharged from the military on July 21, has joined Berriz to get closer to his fans and signal the beginning of a new chapter in his musical journey. This marks his first global fan community since debut, through which the singer aims to expand communication and create new moments with his fans.
As his first move, WOODZ plans to host a livestream at 8 p.m. on July 22 (KST) to greet his fans, catch up, and share his upcoming plans. The livestream serves as a gesture of appreciation for the unwavering support he received during his military service ― especially after “Drowning” (2023) surged in popularity and became a sleeper hit in 2025.
Debuting in 2014, WOODZ has crafted a distinctive musical universe backed by his skills in producing and songwriting. Thanks to his captivating live vocals and performances showcased in various shows including a world tour, WOODZ has built a strong fandom both at home and abroad. Notably, he reached a career high with “Drowning,” a song released in April 2023 that became a sleeper hit after gaining explosive popularity while he was serving in the military. “Drowning” not only conquered major streaming charts in Korea for months but also claimed 1st place on a music show, solidifying WOODZ’s status as one of the standout artists of 2025.
In response to his soaring popularity, WOODZ plans to embark on a variety of musical activities and meet the expectations of his fans. This summer, he will heat up the stage at the major Japanese music festival “Summer Sonic 2025” in Tokyo (Aug. 16) and in Osaka (Aug. 17), as well as at a range of festivals in Korea to showcase his live performance skills. After enthralling audiences at these events, WOODZ is expected to connect with his global fan base through Berriz.
Kakao Entertainment’s Berriz is designed to bring together fans of all kinds of K-culture IP from artists and creators to dramas, films, webtoons and musicals. The platform, offering services in 18 languages including English and Korean, is currently home to fan communities for top-tier artists like IU, IVE, MONSTA X, Jung Seung-hwan and KiiiKiii.
“WOODZ, known for his genre-blending musicality and fascinating performances, will be able to get closer to his fans worldwide via Berriz,” Kakao Entertainment said. “Moving forward, Berriz will continue to innovate and evolve into a true playground where fans of various artists and content IPs can engage and enjoy together.”
