Will Switch Successor’s Mario Game Be Several Times Larger Than Super Mario Odyssey?

By Todd BlackJanuary 10, 2024
Super Mario Odyssey Nintendo Switch

Just when you thought we were safe from more “Nintendo Switch Successor Rumors,” as we hoped for on the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast, those hopes have been swatted away. Here we have yet another rumor from the “insider” known as Zippo, which has to do with the widely believed rumor about the Super Mario Odyssey follow-up that Nintendo is making for their next console. The reason it’s “widely believed” is that the game was a huge success, was nominated for many awards, and was seen as a “huge leap forward” for 3D Mario games.

According to Zippo, the Super Mario Odyssey follow-up isn’t just going to be bigger than the last title; it’ll be 4x the size! Considering the Switch title had numerous kingdoms to visit and secrets to find, that would make it quite big indeed. Plus, the insider states that there will be some “new features” to enjoy, including being other characters from the Mushroom Kingdom.

But, as always, until Nintendo confirms this…it’s just a rumor!
