Last week, Capcom invited me to New York City for a hands-on preview event, where I spent time with three of its most anticipated upcoming titles: Pragmata, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and Resident Evil Requiem. For someone like me, that meant clearing the schedule, hopping on a train, and diving straight into a day packed with previews of games I’ve been eager to play.
This wasn’t just about sitting down with early builds. It was about getting a real sense of how these games are shaping up ahead of their 2026 release windows. Each preview offered something very different, from the haunting sci-fi mystery of Pragmata, to the return of Onimusha with a fresh twist, to the next chapter in the legendary Resident Evil franchise with Resident Evil Requiem.
What follows are my hands-on preview impressions of all three games, along with gameplay footage, so you can see for yourself what Capcom has in store for the future.
Walking away from Capcom’s New York preview event, one thing is clear. 2026 is shaping up to be a big year. Resident Evil Requiem is set to launch on February 27, 2026, while Pragmata and Onimusha are both lining up to keep the year packed with reasons to stay glued to your console or PC.
Capcom didn’t just remind me why they remain one of the most exciting publishers in gaming. I just wish 2026 would hurry up and get here.
