WEBTOON Entertainment and BOOM! Studios to Bring ‘Something Is Killing the Children’ & more to WEBTOON

WEBTOON Entertainment Inc. is partnering with BOOM! Studios to bring fan-favorite series,  including James Tynion IV’s award-winning Something Is Killing the Children and other hit titles to WEBTOON’s English-language platform. WEBTOON will become the exclusive home to vertical scrolling webcomic editions of Something Is Killing the Children, Wynd, Fence, and Lumberjanes.

“WEBTOON connects fans around the world with some of the best storytelling in comics,” said Yongsoo Kim, Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Global WEBTOON at WEBTOON Entertainment. “BOOM!’s catalog has earned recognition from fans and industry professionals alike for its inspired storytelling. We’re excited to partner with them to bring modern classics and genre-defining series like Something Is Killing the Children to new audiences on WEBTOON.”

“We are excited to partner with Webtoons to bring four of our bestselling titles to vertical scroll,” said Jen Harned, President of BOOM! Studios. “BOOM! Studios is always looking for more ways to reach new and current fans, and WEBTOON’s unique platform provides a great opportunity to experience our content.”

“It’s been incredible to see how Something Is Killing the Children and Wynd have connected with fans,” said GLAAD and Eisner Award-winning comic writer James Tynion IV. “I’m eager to see them in vertical scroll, and grateful for the opportunity to bring them to new readers.”

The slate of BOOM! titles coming to WEBTOON include:

  • Something Is Killing the Children — Experience the Eisner Award-winning horror comic written by James Tynion IV, which has sold over 5 million copies.  Something Is Killing the Children focuses on the missing children of Archer’s Peak. Most don’t return — but the ones that do have terrible stories.
  • Wynd — This series from the GLAAD Award-winning writer-artist duo of Tynion and Michael Dialynas follows Wynd, a young boy with a secret: magical blood runs in his veins. When his secret is threatened, he embarks on a dangerous adventure with his best friend.
  • Fence — A story in the tradition of sports comics and manga, Fence follows young fencer Nicholas Cox as he makes a name in the world of competitive fencing and lives up to his father’s reputation.
  • Lumberjanes — A summer camp tale about five friends determined to have an amazing summer, despite the rampant supernatural phenomena around them. Lumberjanes is an Eisner Award-winning and GLAAD Award-winning series.

Launch dates for each series will be announced at a later date.

Fans can hear more about this collaboration at New York Comic Con 2025. WEBTOON and BOOM! Studios will appear on a panel together,  “Legends Reborn: Iconic Comics, New Adventures on WEBTOON” on Saturday, October 11 at 1:45 pm in Room 409.
