Wait, Could Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Come To Nintendo Switch 2?

Can you see the vision?

2025 has been a unique year for game releases so far, and we’re set for a set of big releases in the coming months. The one title that many are still talking about is Clair Obscur Expedition 33 from Sandfall Interactive. The narrative-heavy RPG blew people away with its looks, voice acting, compelling storylines, side content, and its combat. It’s already sold over two million units, and many wonder what’s next for it. While many are hoping some DLC might release, something that might happen a bit sooner is a port to the Nintendo Switch 2.

This isn’t random speculation, either. Sandfall Interactive CEO Guillaume Broche was doing a video interview (as translated by MP1st) and noted the following when asked about a port:

“Well, at this point, considering the success of the game, it kind of changes everything. So clearly, it’s too early to say, but we’re kind of in a situation where… let’s say there are a lot of opportunities showing up — way too many at once — and we’re figuring out what we’ll go for and what we won’t. But yeah, it’s definitely something that could be interesting.”

It’s fair that we’ve gotten a “noncommittal” answer because, frankly, no one expected the game to do this well so fast! Not even the dev team expected that! So getting the game on the Nintendo Switch 2 likely felt like a “pipe dream” to start. However, now ANYTHING is up for grabs. In fact, we even joked on the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast a few weeks ago that we’d love to see Sandfall take a stab at a Nintendo franchise like Golden Sun!

In the meantime, though, be sure to check out our review of Clair Obscur Expedition 33!
