Sega has announced that the Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage beta sign-ups are live. The new update to get every console at parity with Steam’s, of the highly technical 3D Fighter, will still be on track for the October 30th release, but the preview will happen sooner than later.
The action will start on Wednesday, September 10, at 8:00 PM PDT and go until the following Monday, September 15, at 7:59 PM PDT. The beta will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Nintendo Switch 2’s edition will not be included.
Console players will need a free SEGA.com account at Sega’s Account site. Steam players can register directly via the Steam store page by clicking the ‘Request Access” button under the Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage Ver. Beta to join. And of course, the signups are now live!
As for what will be ready for players to get their hands on, here’s the list:
• Ranked Mode
• Online Matchmaking
• Offline Training Mode
• Offline Arcade Mode
The new mode, World Stage, as well as Tournament and League modes, might not seem to be coming to this beta.
Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage was announced at Evo USA 2025 major as a follow-up for the Ultimate Showdown / R.E.V.O. update for PlayStation 4 / Steam. R.E.V.O. World Stage promises to bring back more single-player content through a World Tour-esque mode that pits players against opponents that will mimic real-world Virtua Fighter esports competitors. Crossplay between all 4 ecosystems is one of the many new features of Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage. Dural being playable for the first time ever is another.
