Varlet Is Going To Fly Under The Radar When It Shouldn’t

Varlet is only two days away, but the only game people are speaking about is Silksong. Don’t get me wrong, Silksong is awesome and I am happy it is finally coming out, but it is going to overshadow a lot of the releases that will be coming out, making some games delay their date like Demonschool. One of the games I enjoyed in the last few years was Monark, and I am happy to see Furyu is still making games. They generally make lower-budget games, but the experiences are still great regardless. This is a first for Furyu to be the global publisher instead of just a developer. They usually outsource publishing to other companies like NIS America. I am interested to see how they handle it.

Varlet takes place in a high school and deals with social events similar to Persona, but a lot of the details we have don’t stop there.

“Kousei Academy: where the protagonist has recently transferred.
Whispered rumors surround this place.

Another world where strange creatures dwell appears within the school…
…and once you’ve wandered in, there’s no way back out.

After seeing this other world—a Glitch—with his own eyes,
the protagonist realizes several people have been replaced with monsters.

You must fight alongside your friends
to save the academy from imminent destruction.” – Steam

FurYu is making Varlet look like a very interesting and engaging Turn-based RPG. One of my favorite genres! Also, as a fan of the Trails series, using SSS as the main way to call the cast of characters is a favorite of mine. Heck, we even have a podcast that is SSS. Varlet is a story about self-discovery and seeing how others can help with that. If you are excited like I am, you can buy it digitally on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, or PC when it comes out. Or you can pre-order it on PlayAsia for international shipping. There is a PlayStation 5 physical copy and a Nintendo Switch physical copy.

Varlet is coming out August 28th, 2025. It will launch on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
