Ultraman Set to Take Over G-FEST w/ Film Premiere and Preview of ULTRAMAN OMEGA

By Josh PiedraJune 20, 2025

Get ready to fire your Spacium Beams, because Ultraman is flying back into action in Chicago bigger than ever!  Today, Tsuburaya Productions announced that Japan’s most iconic superhero, Ultraman, will be taking over G-FEST 2025 – the 30th anniversary of the ultimate Kaiju-focused convention –  with a one-of-a-kind screening, must-see panel, live hero-on-monster battles, big reveals, merch and so much more!

Ultraman

Fans of the franchise will not want to miss the Chicago premiere of the English dub of Ultraman Arc The Movie: The Clash of Light and Evil with Ultraman Arc himself making a live appearance!  In Ultraman Arc The Movie: The Clash of Light and Evil, Ultraman Arc will face his dark doppelganger Guil Arc, in a hyperspace battle between light and evil. Yuma Hize  (played by Yuki Totsuka), the protagonist who transforms into Ultraman Arc, will face his greatest challenge yet—imposed upon him by a mysterious man. That man is the space sage from Planet Diggle, Sascal, played by none other than Naoto Takenaka! Screening features a live appearance by Ultraman Arc and more so have your cameras ready!

As part of the Ultraman offerings at G-FEST this year, Tsuburaya Productions, Tsuburaya Fields Media & Pictures Entertainment and Sky Turtle Nova, an imprint of Oasis Family Media, will be revealing a sneak peek at the new Ultraman Omega TV series, the upcoming Ultra Academy novels, Ultraman Card Game art, and Marvel Comics projects, along with a special guest appearance during the “Tsuburaya 2025 Ultraman Update feat. Ultraman Omega” panel on Saturday, July 12 at 4p CT.

Throughout the weekend, fans can explore the Ultraman universe, from 1966’s beloved classic Ultraman to 2025’s newest series, Ultraman Omega, and enjoy special activities, including a focus on the Ultraman Card Game with brand new art reveals. Meet your favorite Ultra Heroes and Kaiju at character meet & greets, and witness the action up close with live mini-stage battles. Hiroko Sakurai, known for her iconic roles as Yuriko Edogawa in Ultra Q and Akiko Fuji in Ultraman, will appear for autograph sessions and a special live talk show.

“G-FEST is the premiere convention in North America celebrating tokusatsu, live-action Japanese special effects entertainment, attracting thousands every year,” said Jeff Gomez, transmedia producer, hosting this year’s panels. “We are honored to bring the Ultra Heroes and some of their toughest Kaiju opponents to Chicago with non-stop activations for new and longtime fans throughout the weekend.”

“It’s an exciting time for Ultraman and all things Kaiju at TFMPE,” said David Kornblum, the president and CEO of Tsuburaya Fields Media & Pictures Entertainment (TFMPE). “It’s a wonderful opportunity to share these developments with all of our fans attending this year’s G-FEST.”

The Ultraman universe first debuted in 1966 in the television series Ultra Q, and over the last 58+ years, the Ultraman franchise has spawned a record number of television series, films, video games, and more.  The continued presence of Ultraman at G-FEST for 2025 comes at a time of major growth and increased brand awareness of the Ultraman franchise.

G-FEST 2025 will take place at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Chicago from July 11-13.  To learn more about Ultraman at G-FEST, visit www.G-FESTcon.com.
