If you’re a Transformers fan like I am, I’ve got some bad news. Transformers: Battlegrounds, the turn-based strategy game, is being delisted from Steam, PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, and the Nintendo eShop due Outright Games contract regarding the IP.
Outright Games confirmed that the game will be removed from all digital storefronts by the end of December 2025. So, if you haven’t played it yet, now is the best time to grab it before it’s gone for good. It’s a fun game, it’s basically X-Com in the Tranformers: Cyberverse, that’s suited for the younger crowd. Interestingly, Outright Games also published Transformers Earthspark Expedition, and Transformers: Galactic Trials, and there has been no mention of those games being delisted. At least not yet.
I swear the Transformers license must be cursed. Games launch under the brand and then disappear, over and over again. That’s why incredible titles such as Transformers Devastation, Transformers Fall of Cybertron, and Transformers War for Cybertron are no longer available to purchase unless you get lucky and find a reasonably priced physical copy.
Since I’m primarily a PC gamer, I missed out on many of these classics because they are gone from Steam forever. Thankfully, I can still enjoy those games on consoles.
