Towa And The Guardians Of The Sacred Tree Prologue Video

Today, Bandai Namco released a new video that shows the prologue to their upcoming Roguelite, Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree. In this video, we are introduced to Towa and her place in the story.

The village of Shinju is based on the god Shinju in the game. A child of the gods, Towa is tasked with protecting the village and its residents. As Towa helps protect the village, a god from far away known as Magatsu descends on the land with dark miasma. This miasma poisons the land and consumes the mana from the world.

This miasma also creates dark creatures known as the Magaori. These creatures help spread the corruption of the miasma even further in the land. It was at this point that Magatsu reached Shinju Village and made nothing but destruction in its wake. Shinju asks Towa to protect the village, and Towa does so by selecting villagers who can become guardians. These guardians were called Prayer Children. Towa being able to turn back time makes it so that failure isn’t the end. Will Towa and the Guardians be able to remove the Miasma from the land? The end of the prologue video shows that this ability to control time also comes with a cost that will be revealed later on.

Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree will be released on September 19th, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
