It was announced by Topco Media, parent company of Toptoon, that it will make use of AI to produce short-form animation services for webtoons. Topco believes that this decision will maintain collaborative structures with creators and provide subscribers with an enhanced immersive experience.
The goal is to have users experience webtoons in a new way by providing short animations rather than static images through motion effects. If you are a premium subscriber, you will gain access to special episodes and AI-produced shorts.
Following Kakao Entertainment’s Helix Shorts and WEBTOON’s Video Episodes, Topco will join the wave to produce short-form video content. WEBTOON does not use AI to create Video Episodes.
As of now, there is no date as to when Topco will release this new feature.
