Thanks to an exciting collaboration between Marvel Comics and Toho International, the Japanese studio’s U.S.-based subsidiary that has brought global sensation Godzilla to life, Godzilla has made a roaring return to the Marvel Universe! Following a series of history-spanning one-shots where Godzilla battled different Marvel heroes, the King of the Monsters takes on the combined might of Marvel’s greatest heroes in GODZILLA DESTROYS THE MARVEL UNIVERSE by writer Gerry Duggan and artist Javier Garrón. Announced earlier this month, this five-issue event series delivers the pop culture showdown fans have been waiting decades for, and today, they can check out six all-new variant covers for the debut issue, on sale July 16.

The new covers include a special Foil Variant Cover by Leinil Francis Yu, an Animation Variant Cover by Sean Galloway, an iconic Action Figure Variant Cover by John Tyler Christopher, and a piece by series artist Javier Garrón. Also revealed are the first of two variant cover programs that will be featured throughout the series: Fan Favorite Variant Covers that invite fan-favorite artists like E.J. Su to get in on the action and Marvelized Variant Covers that depict classic Marvel icons as Godzilla, which Dave Wachter kicks off with a terrifying depiction of THING-ZILLA!

LOOK OUT NEW YORK!

A previously dormant Godzilla has been angrily awoken and begun carving a path of annihilation as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes band together to try and stop its cataclysmic rampage! But when their combined efforts fail to slow the Bringer of Destruction, Earth’s heroes are forced to go to extraordinary lengths to try and bring Godzilla down – including joining forces with Earths most devious villains! But will this be enough to stop Godzilla as it tears straight through the Marvel Universe into the Dark Dimension and other realms? Plus, how is the King of the Monsters connected to the mysterious metal, Vibranium, and what does this mean for Wakanda? In the face of an unstoppable force of nature, the Marvel Universe must come together like never before in this earth-shattering fight for Earth’s survival.
