It’s been a heck of a ride for Replaced, the upcoming sci-fi title where players take control of an AI trapped inside a human body. Just when it seemed like the game was finally in the home stretch, we’ve learned that Replaced has been delayed once again, this time to April 14, 2026. Sad Cat Studios, the developer behind Replaced, announced the delay on its Twitter/X account.
Originally slated for release in 2022, the game has faced multiple delays over the years before settling on a March 2026 launch window. Now, that date has slipped by another month. Sad Cat Studios, explains that this new delay is due to feedback from the recent demo, which played a significant role in the decision. The team learned quite a bit from player responses and wants to ensure the final release meets expectations.
Personally, after spending time with the demo, I think pushing the game back a month is the right call. When I played it, I felt the combat was a bit slower than I expected, and I encountered hit detection issues at times. For a project that’s been in development for as long as it has, the last thing anyone wants is for it to launch in an abysmal state.
So yes, the wait just got a little longer. Replaced is now scheduled to arrive on April 14, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
