The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon Launches January 15, 2026

By Keith MitchellJuly 24, 2025
The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond The Horizon New Key Art. It has Van Arkride, Agnes, Rean, and Kevin in the art.

NIS America has officially announced The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon release date, which will see the title being released on January 15, 2026. This release will see the title being launched for just about every modern platform imaginable: Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG). Sadly, Xbox gamers are being left out.

Along with the reveal of the release date, there’s a brand-new one waiting for you to check out below.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon picks off where Trails through Daybreak II left off, putting us back in the shoes of Van Arkride and the rest of Arkride Solutions. Only this time, it’s not just a city or country hanging in the balance; it’s the entire continent of Zemuria.

The story wastes no time escalating things. Humanity’s on the brink of launching its first-ever space exploration program, and just when you think that’s big enough news, in comes Marduk with a mysterious high-tech training exercise. That’s when Van ends up crossing paths with a couple of heavy hitters, Rean Schwarzer, and Father Kevin Graham.

Each of them is following their path, but they all seem to be zeroing in on the same existential mystery: what really lies beyond the horizon? If you’ve followed this series long enough, you know it won’t be a smooth ride. Expect drama, political tension, metaphysical curveballs, and at least one moment that’ll emotionally wreck you.

And if you’re new to The Legend of Heroes games, we’ve got this handy guide that could help you get started in this amazing world of RPG titles.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond The Horizon launches on January 15, 2026, for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG).
