You may have missed it, but yesterday (January 8th, 2026) saw a bunch of beloved creators put on their first-ever gaming showcase, the New Game Plus Showcase. It was full of reveals from updates, to new games and more. One of the most interesting sections of the show was when creator Luke Stephens spoke with Julian Gerighty, Executive Producer for The Division franchise at Massive Entertainment. Gerighty is known for his work as the Creative Director for both the first and second Division games, as well as Star Wars Outlaws.
It was during this discussion that Gerighty reiterated that Division 3 is still absolutely in development. Which is something we have known for sometime and while he didn’t reveal any details about the game itself. What Gerighty did say spoke volumes about the studio’s confidence in what they are creating.
When mentioning Division 3, Julian Gerighty said:
“So, the division 3 is in production right? This is not a secret, it’s been announced. It’s shaping up to be a monster… I can’t really say anything more than that…”
“Within these walls, in Massive, we are working extremely hard on something that I think will be as big an impact as Division 1 was.”
Of course, that isn’t all that Julian Gerighty revealed during the discussion. He also spoke about The Division 2: Survivors, an upcoming extraction-based mode expansion for The Division 2, directed by Magnus Jansén, the original Division 1 creative director.
Gerighty spoke at length about the weather in The Division 2: Survivors. Focusing on how the arrival of snow will change the map of Washington D.C, along with how it will impact the player in ways we haven’t seen in The Division 2 until now. Unfortunately, the New Game Plus Showcase shared only a snippet of the interview, with the full discussion available on the Gaming Interviews YouTube channel.
So, I’d recommend checking out the full interview below:
Be sure to stay tuned to The Outerhaven for even more news on The Division 2 as we head into the game’s tenth anniversary this year.
