Special CMLL Show Highlights Pokemon Collaboration With New Video

By Todd BlackSeptember 4, 2025
The Pokemon Company, CMLL

You might not think that Pokémon and professional wrestling “go together,” but they absolutely do, especially since the beloved RPG franchise has dabbled in having all kinds of pocket monsters in the past, including numerous ones dedicated to the various styles of martial arts, including wrestling. Last week, it was revealed that Pokemon Legends Z-A would have a Mega Evolution version of Hawlucha, which made it look even more like a Mexican Luchador. To that end, there was a special collaboration then announced for September 25th featuring The Pokémon Company and renowned promotion CMLL.

Last night, a special CMLL program was aired to help hype up the upcoming event, and a couple of “special guests” arrived in the forms of Pikachu and Eevee!

Pikachu and Eevee showed up on CMLL Informa last night. 😭

Yes, it is adorable, thank you for noticing. I’ve been paying attention to this event, and apparently, it’s selling pretty well, and it might even be a sold-out crowd! If so, that would be a huge win for both sides and a great way to promote both the wrestling company and the upcoming Switch/Switch 2 title.

The special event will be on September 25th, and it’ll air on YouTube for free!
