Sony Confirms February 12, 2026 PlayStation State of Play, Promises 60+ Minutes

By Keith MitchellFebruary 9, 2026
Sony State of Play February 2026

Yep, here we go. After that initial leak, Sony has revealed that it will be hosting a PlayStation State of Play on February 12, 2026, at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET. This event will be hosted via PlayStation’s YouTube and Twitch channels. This State of Play will run for 60+ minutes and will feature news, gameplay updates and announcements will be provided on multiple gaming studios, worldwide.

As for what we can expect, well, that’s a loaded question. So, let’s put on that speculation helmet.

One obvious candidate is Marvel’s Wolverine, which still lacks a release date and has been notably quiet since its initial reveal. A proper gameplay showing or even a release window would instantly make this State of Play a must-watch.

There’s also Grand Theft Auto VI, which is slated for later in 2026. While a full blowout may be unlikely, a new trailer or story tease would go a long way in keeping the hype train rolling. On the closer end of the release calendar, Crimson Desert is set to launch this March, making it a strong candidate for an extended gameplay deep dive or final preview.

Horror fans may also want to pay close attention. With Resident Evil Requiem on the horizon, this could be the moment Capcom finally confirms a PlayStation VR2 mode, something fans have been hoping for since the game was announced. And then there’s the lingering question of what Square Enix plans to officially call Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3, along with when we might finally see it in action.

What it is, be sure not to miss this State of Play. Something tells me this one is going to be loaded.
