SK Hynix has announced the “Gold S31” SSD. A performance-based SSD that was created with gamers and content creators in mind.

SK hynix has been supplying global PC OEMs with high-quality, competitive SSDs since 2013, leveraging its proven quality and reliability as the world’s leading memory provider,” “The launch of Gold S31 with Amazon U.S. will be a meaningful opportunity to expand the experience of SK hynix’s SSDs to consumers.” said Kook Won, Head of Global Sales & Marketing Strategy of SK hynix.

The 2.5-inch drive will support the SATA III interface and will utilize 3D NAND Flash and will be available in three different sizes, 256GB, 500GB, and 1TB. Spec-wise, SK Hynix’s SSD matches up with Samsung’s 860 PRO SSD, with Reads at 560MB/s and Writes at 525MB/s.

The Gold S31 will be exclusive to Amazon for the remainder of 2019. While other retailers will start to sell the drive during 2020. They’re up on Amazon as of now and are priced at $49.99 for the 250GB, $77.99 for the 500GB and $123.99 for the 1TB. Those prices align up with similar products and the 1TB version is a steal at that price.

As for being created for gamers and content creators, we’ll be testing this once we get our hands on one to report our findings.
