SGF 2025 – Cronos: The New Dawn Receives New Horror Filled Trailer At Xbox Games Showcase

I’m someone who has been a fan of developer Bloober Team for quite some time, enjoying many of their previous titles. That being said, they are undoubtedly most known for the critically acclaimed Silent Hill 2 Remake, which was released in 2024. Now, as part of SGF 2025 and the Xbox Games Showcase, Bloober Team has unveiled a brand-new trailer for their upcoming action-horror Cronos: The New Dawn.

Thanks to its clear inspirations of Dead Space and Alan Wake, Cronos: The New Dawn is a game I’ve had my eye on ever since it was first revealed. This trailer has only heightened my anticipation of the game, and thankfully I shouldn’t have too long to wait before I can get my hands on it.

Orphans – Destroy the Nest, Don’t Let Them Merge

The new gameplay trailer reveals intense survival moments inside the Orphans’ nest, offering a closer look at these terrifying creatures. Orphans are twisted, body-horror monstrosities born from humanity’s darkest nightmares. The trailer showcases their behaviour — exceptionally aggressive and relentless — turning every encounter into a desperate fight for survival. Most importantly, players must prevent them from merging (DON’T LET THEM MERGE). As previously shown, defeated enemies must be burned immediately. If not, they risk being absorbed by other foes, triggering a merge that creates an even stronger and faster enemy.

Exploring the Twisted Realms of the New Dawn

Additionally, the exciting new trailer reveals part of the story of a mysterious Predecessor — a Traveler ND 3500 — and their cryptic travel log. Players will journey through unsettling post-apocalyptic environments inspired by the existing Polish district – Nowa Huta, where decaying Brutalist architecture is warped and twisted by reality-bending anomalies.

Cronos: The New Dawn is set for release in Fall 2025 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and Epic. For more information, go to www.cronosnewdawn.com

Jordan has been playing games since the age of six. This ignited a passion which initially led him towards game development before trying his hand in the realm of games media, starting in 2022. It turns out he's quite good at it, even if he doesn't always believe in himself. Now, just a few short years later, not only is Jordan a valued member of our staff here at The Outerhaven, but he also co-owns and helps to run Analog Stick Gaming.
