SEGA Drops New Combat Trailer for SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance

By Keith MitchellJune 2, 2025

SEGA and Lizardcube just dropped a brand-new combat trailer for SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance, and it hits hard. Packed with slick visuals and intense action, the trailer shows off what players can expect when Joe Musashi returns to slice, flip, and burn his way through enemies.

From chaining brutal combos to unleashing flashy special attacks, the gameplay looks fast, fluid, and faithful to the series’ legacy. And with Lizardcube (Streets of Rage 4), handling the visuals, it’s no surprise this game oozes style. It just looks amazing in action, damn good.

But don’t just take my word for it, check out the trailer below.

Whether you’re here for the nostalgia or looking to master the ninja arts for the first time, SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance is shaping up to be a must-play. I’m really looking forward to the return of Shinobi, especially since I grew up on the series, from the arcade, the Sega Master System, and Sega Genesis. When Sega put Joe Musashi on ice for a while, I was upset and confused, as Shinobi was one of the best franchises in Sega’s catalog. So, I’m really happy that in a short while, we’ll all be able to dive back into the world of Shinobi.

Between this, and Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, it’s a good year for 2D Ninja Action fans.

Launching on August 29, 2025, SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance is now available for pre-order on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam for $29.99. Nintendo Switch pre-orders will open at a later date.
