Seagate Unleashes Three New Additions to their Game Drive Repertoire

By Clinton Bowman-ChristieJune 29, 2017

In the whirlwind that was E3 2017, it’s inevitable that people could miss awesome announcements like this one from Seagate Technologies. Seagate has announced three new products in their Game Drive line of products: the Game Drive for Xbox Games Pass Edition, the Game Drive Hub for Xbox and the Game Drive for PlayStation 4.

Seagate Game Drive for Xbox Games Pass Edition
Seagates Game Drive for Xbox Games Pass Edition will come in two sizes 2TB and 4TB

With Xbox Games Pass now in full swing, Seagate is offering their newest revision to the Xbox Game Drive, with a white finish which complements the Xbox One S in style. The Drive will be available in two and four terabyte (TB) flavors. The 2TB edition will come with a one-month subscription to Xbox Games Pass and will retail for USD$89.99, while the 4TB edition comes with a two-month pass and will retail for USD$129.99. With over 100 games available now, and lots more on the horizon, the Game Drive for Xbox Games Pass Edition will certainly allow you to save internal hard drive space for all your Xbox One and Xbox 360 games! There is another option, however:

Seagate's Game Drive Hub for Xbox
With a massive 8TB of storage Seagates Game Drive Hub looks to be the ultimate option to end your external hard drive struggle

The Game Drive Hub for Xbox gives gamers a “high-capacity storage upgrade” along with 2 USB 3.0 ports in the front of it. Seagate is offering plenty of storage for 200+ Xbox One games with a massive 8TB drive. That’s right, EIGHT TERABYTES of storage. and the 2 USB 3 ports in the front allow you to connect other peripherals or charge your controllers and mobile devices, all while getting performance similar to your console’s internal hard drive. Now, I have reviewed the Game Drive for Xbox SSD, but I am hotly anticipating getting my hands on one of these babies soon. The Game Drive Hub for Xbox retails for USD$199.99. PlayStation owners aren’t left out because there is a new external mass capacity storage option for you as well!

Seagate Game Drive for PlayStation 4
The Game Drive for PlayStation 4 gives users an additional 2TB of space to store all their favorite games

The Game Drive for PlayStation 4 is the first branded portable drive for PlayStation 4 owners since the 4.50 system update that allowed for external storage to be used on PS4 machines. With 2TB of storage, you can easily store approximately 50+ games, giving your internal hard drive a little bit of a break. The Game Drive for PS4 can also be used on PlayStation 4 Pro, along with the original parallelogram and the slimmed down variant. It will retail for USD$89.99.

And there you have it (to quote Tipsy Bartender,) three new solutions for your game storage crisis. Which option will you be getting for your console of choice?
