Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast From The Past Video Game?

By Scott AdamsFebruary 20, 2025
Key art for the Samurai Pizza Cats game Blast From The Past

The Samurai Pizza Cats was a series I watched but never really knew it actually existed. It is like one of those series from the 90s that you remember watching but never remembering the name or premise and you think you made up everything about it in your mind. If you are like me and think this way, well good news, Samurai Pizza Cats exists! Not only does it exist, it has been announced to get a brand new video game.

“The new game, Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast from the Past, is being developed by Dutch studio BLAST ZERO (creative team behind Jitsu Squad) and will be globally distributed by Red Dunes Games from the United Arab Emirates. Designed as a 2D Action RPG, the game allows players to seamlessly switch between members of the Pizza Cats, utilizing their unique abilities to solve puzzles and engage in thrilling battles within the world of Little Tokyo. The newly released trailer shows a stunningly faithful recreation of the anime’s cel animation style, along with a sneak peek at in-game footage.

Notably, the Japanese trailer’s script is being supervised by Satoru Akahori, the original screenplay writer.” – Press Release

I am excited to see that this will exist and maybe I will go searching up more fever dreams from my childhood to see if they exist!

A lot of the English cast and Japanese cast reprise their roles for this trailer and for the game. Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast From The Past! is being developed for all major platforms and can be wish listed on Steam right now.
