Salvatore Ganacci Scratches Into Fatal Fury City of the Wolves

By Kevin KellyApril 3, 2025
Fatal Fury: CIty of The Wolves

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves doubles down on reality by adding another “guest” character to the mix. Cristano Ronaldo will be joined by real-life DJ Salvatore Ganacci, who seems to know a certain Duck King all too well in this world. In a bit of a reveal trailer, a young Salvatore wished upon a magical Neo-Geo cartridge blow and got his wish. Well, one of his wishes. We’ll have to see if his ending will reveal the other one.

Unlike having to stop by for a break as Ronaldo does, Ganacci’s trying to make an anime music video and wants to deliver justice through dancing and martial arts – or Salvatore Ganacci as the stlye called. Sounds like a Duck King thing to do.  Or even a certain Hiphop-kidoist turned Power Ranger Zack Taylor thing to do.

Salvatore is a justice-dealing Artist who has arrived in South Town looking for inspiration to help finish his latest (and hopefully greatest) anime music video.
When his good friend Duck King tells him about the KOF tournament on the horizon, Salvatore decides it just might give him the spark he needs. Combining DJing and martial arts, Salvatore is nothing if not versatile—mixing music, muscles, and mayhem leaving even the most formidable opponents stunned and disoriented by his extraordinary abilities.

According to the moves sheet, Ganacci’s moves are reliant on starting moves with commands to be added after the initial run. Throwing in a button gets a new move to tack on the damage. He has an air-swim attack similar to F.A.N.G.’s deadly Street Fighter V’s run. While it isn’t seen that he has any defensive or counter way to deal with projectiles, he seems to be a close-range character to contend with. His Ultimate Beat: II Salvatore Hidden Gear attack is a callback to his Horse track music video with Salvatore boxing a grandma. Poor Terry gonna feel it now.

Also, why is Terry ALWAYS the punching bag for these guests, anyway? Is he some sort of SNK Ambassador or something?

Salvatore Ganacci’s collaboration will be bringing 11 world-renowned DJs to remix some classic Fatal Fury tracks for City of the Wolves. Surprisingly, Ganacci won’t be voicing his character as The Breath of the Wild’s Sean Chiplock will take on the man’s vocals.  At this point, is it expected to hope that Duck King will be busting a move with him soon as a playable character. It does seem odd to see these “real life” guests be considered in the full roster of an established franchise as Fatal Fury. Maybe Shaq might get a call next?

Amped-up Ganacci ups the list to 16, with one more character to come before the season pass kicks in post-launch. Street Fighter’s Ken and Andy Bogard will come in hot during the summer months. After that, Preecha’s teacher Joe Higashi, Art of Fighting’s Mr Big, as well as Street Fighter‘s Chun-Li will join them for Year 1 DLC. The last character here could be the boss character we’ve been waiting for next week. Ganacci’s appearance is the second DLC character to be revealed in the last two weeks, so there’s speculation that the rest of the cast will be out the gate by then.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will be available on April 24th for PlayStation 4 | 5, Xbox Series X | S, Epic Store, and Steam.
