At yesterday’s Sony State of Play, we got another look at Resident Evil Requiem. Capcom’s latest trailer reveals a bit more of the characters. Naturally, Leon S. Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft figure prominently. The trailer goes into a bit more detail about why these two protagonists head to Raccoon City. But it also gives a look at Emily, Nathan Dempsey, and Victor Gideon, three characters new to the Resident Evil series.
Check out the trailer below. Note that as one of the last trailers before the game releases, it goes into a bit more detail than previous ones. I wouldn’t say there’s anything super spoiler-y here, but it does explain why Leon goes back to Raccoon City and what the stakes are for him. So if you feel like you already know what you want to know, be warned. That said, it doesn’t show much in the way of new locations. We’ve already seen one iconic location teased, though it’s neat to see Leon arriving back there.
If you’re wondering a bit more about these new characters, Victor Gideon seems poised to take over as the main antagonist of Resident Evil Requiem. He’s the main suspect in the strange deaths that Leon and FBI Analyst Grace Ashcroft investigate. Even though he’s new to Resident Evil, he ties into the greater lore as a former T-Virus researcher for series mainstay Umbrella.
Naturally, for Grace to investigate these murders, someone at the FBI must have put her on the case. This is where Nathan Dempsey comes into play. The FBI supervisor entrusts Grace with investigating the mysterious deaths, despite (or perhaps because of) the death of her mother Alyssa Ashcroft, a prior Raccoon City survivor.
Lastly, we got our first look at Emily. The mysterious girl appears at the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center, Victor Gideon’s base of operations. In our final preview, we went hands-on at this supposed “care” center, encountering new zombie enemies along the way. The trailer also gives more of a look at these enemies as well.
We’re fast approaching the release date for the game, so we’ll see if we get any more trailers. But this could be the last. Resident Evil Requiem launches soon on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 on February 27th, 2026.
