Resident Evil Requiem is Heading to The Nintendo Switch 2

By Keith MitchellSeptember 12, 2025

Looks like Capcom is continuing its trend of supporting Nintendo’s consoles with the often rumored but now official announcement of Resident Evil Requiem, Resident Evil 7 Biohazard: Gold (RE7) and Resident Evil Village: Gold (RE8), are heading to the Nintendo Switch 2.

Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition will also release on Nintendo Switch 2, including the full game, the “Not a Hero” chapter, and all additional DLC. Resident Evil Village Gold Edition will also be available featuring the Winters’ Expansion and the Trauma Pack.

All these of these survival horror titles will be released onto the Nintendo Switch on February 27, 2026. For those paying attention to Resident Evil Requiem already, you’ll notice that this means the games will be released at the same time that Resident Evil Requiem is also being released for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Yet, that means no delay for the Nintendo Switch 2 version.

Resident Evil Biohazard and Resident Evil Village Nintendo Switch

Ok, let’s talk about the elephant. Yes, the Nintendo Switch 2 versions of these games may pale to the more powerful console versions, but I’m very curious to see how much of those games that Capcom is going to be able to squeeze onto the Nintendo Switch. It’s too early to talk about resolutions and frame rates, but there’s plenty of time before that info is released.

Still, being able to play the game on the go, especially if the performance isn’t going to be a bad experience. Still, it seems like a good way for those who don’t access to a PC, PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, to get in on what is shaping up to be one of the best Resident Evil games in quite some time.

In the meanwhile, check out our hands-off and hands-on previews of Resident Evil Requiem.
