A New Way to Tell a Witcher Tale
Nerial and Devolver Digital have announced Reigns: The Witcher, a new narrative-driven entry in the swipe-based Reigns series, developed in cooperation with CD PROJEKT RED. The game launches February 25, 2026 on PC, Mac, iOS, and Android, with wishlisting and pre-registration now open.
Dandelion Takes Center Stage
Rather than retelling Geralt of Rivia’s story from the usual grim, monster-hunting perspective, Reigns: The Witcher reframes the legend through the unreliable, theatrical lens of bard extraordinaire Dandelion. Players swipe left or right to shape Geralt’s decisions, balancing survival, reputation, and consequence across thousands of branching narrative combinations.
Why Reigns Fits The Witcher
True to the Reigns formula, few choices are clearly good or bad. Advising a villager against hunting a monster may save lives – or doom them later. Humor someone too long, and Geralt may not live to regret it. Every decision subtly reshapes the Continent, often in ways that only become clear much later.
Swipe-Based Choices with Real Consequences
Combat appears as bite-sized minigames woven into the narrative flow, while familiar faces from the Witcher universe make appearances, including Yennefer of Vengerberg, Triss Merigold, and Vesemir. Progression centers on leveling up Dandelion’s career as a bard, unlocking new stories, Inspirations, and plotlines as his version of events grows ever more legendary.
A reveal trailer showcases the series’ signature swipe-driven interface paired with Witcher-themed art and humor, suggesting a lighter but still morally sharp take on Geralt’s world.
