Primal Season 3 Gets Special Trailer and Shocking Revival

...this will cause problems for the world.

Primal Season 3

Animation is a big part of my life. I love watching animated series, and I’ve even had a hand in certain animations over the years (self-made or with other indie crews, mind you). When an animated series comes out and shocks you with how different it is compared to everything that’s come out before, you remember it. Genndy Tartakovsky is a master of animation in many respects, and soon, he’ll bring back what might have been his “magnum opus” via Primal Season 3. The show’s first two seasons followed the story of Spear and Fang, a caveman and his dinosaur steed, as they attempted to survive the brutal world they were in.

I’m not joking when I say this show was a masterclass of non-verbal storytelling. My Season 2 review heaped tons of praise upon it, while also wondering if it would continue on. Sure enough, in January, Primal Season 3 will debut, and Adult Swim dropped a special trailer for it that shows that Spear…is coming back to life…as a zombie…

Yeah, that happened! I didn’t see that coming, and it makes me wonder what’ll happen next. Sure enough, the showrunner talked with ComicBook.com about this and teased the emotional story to come:

“Now we’re doing a ‘zombie caveman,’ you know, which is a great idea too, but we’re not doing that,” Tartakovsky teased. “We’re continuing the story, and this is just what happened to him. Then we explain it, of course which I’m holding off, in the first episode. It’s really fun to watch, because you have this emotional connection. It’s not just a random undead. It’s somebody very specific.”

Gennedy also admitted he struggled with this storyline at first, as he didn’t know what to do after Spear’s death. So, he brought him back! Yay?
