poncle Announces Vampire Survivors Spinoff, Vampire Crawlers

By Josh PiedraNovember 20, 2025
Vampire Crawlers

Vampire Survivors single-handedly kicked off a new sub-genre of roguelite games, dubbed by fans as the swarm survivor genre. The game was incredibly addictive, turning you into a bullet hell to mow down wave after wave of increasingly difficult enemies.

So, what happens when you add expansion after expansion and even do crossovers with franchises like Castlevania, Contra, and Among Us?

Well, you make a spinoff, change up the gameplay, and make people like me pry open their wallet once again. Say hello to Vampire Crawlers!

Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors’ is a casual, turbo turn‑based deckbuilder spin-off of Vampire Survivors coming to Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android in 2026.

Vampire Crawlers turns the snowballing thrill of Vampire Survivors into a turbo turn‑based, card‑driven BLOBBER with rogue-lite elements. Expect to crawl through dungeons, collect shiny coins and crystals, and deal screen-shattering card combos.

Announced during this evening’s Xbox Showcase with a slick new trailer that opens with an ultra-realistic Poe showcasing everything Vampire Crawlers IS NOT, the wildcard launches on PC, mobile, and consoles in 2026 – with other platforms potentially to follow (except smart fridges, for now).

Vampire Crawlers will also be available day one on Xbox Game Pass Premium and Ultimate! Hooray!

Vampire Crawlers

Overview

In a dark world, a new adventure begins. Explore maps, level up powers, kill monsters. Find treasures.

Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors turns the snowballing thrill of Vampire Survivors into a turbo turn‑based, card‑driven BLOBBER with rogue-lite elements. Build busted decks, explore familiar dungeons from a new perspective, and unleash world‑ending combos. Either take your time and be tactical, or play turns as fast as you humanly can: the outcome is always accurate!

  • Snowballing, turn‑based carnage: Play cards in ascending mana order to land combos; each step multiplies the next card’s effect. Use Wilds to extend the stack and keep going to 10, 20, 30… Can you reach infinite without shattering the screen?
  • Pick your pace: The turbo turn-based engine provides accurate outcomes regardless of the speed at which you prefer to play: enjoy the effects of your cards one by one, or generate unhinged chaos by playing as fast as you can!
  • Deck-Building: Accumulate experience and level up to gain new cards, headbutt chests for customization gems and power‑ups; chase weapon evolutions and summon survivors to trigger cascade of effects and break the game.
  • Crawling: Explore multi‑floor dungeons packed with something seldom seen in Vampire Survivors: functioning walls. And then all sorts of treasures and interactions. Find the shovel to dig down into the next floor, that might, obviously, take place in the clouds!

“I have accumulated more than 3000 hours of playtime on Vampire Survivors over the years, and I’m still counting,” said Luca Galante, Company Director at poncle, “Vampire Crawlers isn’t even released and is already on the same trajectory for me!”

With Vampire Crawlers, poncle has officially started a series of spin-offs of Vampire Survivors.

The idea is to take some of the core pillars behind the development of Vampire Survivors and to apply them to existing genres: accessibility, immediacy, affordability, replayability, lightheartedness, and tons of sparkly stuff. While the core poncle team keeps working on a secret project for the future of Vampire Survivors, the spin-offs concepts are made in collaboration with other indie studios.
